I am on holiday/vacation this week in Big Sky Montana. This is Lone Peak, the top of the mountain at Big Sky.

Here is a view of the slopes:

The skiing has been great and we've had wonderful meals at Bucks T-4 and Ousel and Spur Pizza.

But what can be better than skiing at a great resort, with fantastic snow????

Finding a Yarn shop at the bottom of the slopes:)

Christine Rodgers store "CR.eations" is billed as A Yarn-Shop and Fiber-Station and the store is full of wonderful yarn, patterns, closures, buttons, finished work, jewelry and gifts. I was unable to resist and purchased a book and yarn.

I have been eyeing Sandra McIvers book Knit Swirl for quite some time and after finding a copy in Christines shop decided to go for it.

One of the yarns Christine stocks is the Mountain Colors range from Corvallis Montana. I purchased both Twizzle and Monarch and plan on making a swirl jacket in one of these luscious yarns. Monarch is 100% merino wool while Twizzle is a combination of Merino wool and silk. Both knit up well and have a lovely soft finish. The gauge squares are knitted in Twizzle in the Prairie Rose colour.
